The Mediation process is designed to assist the parties to a civil dispute reach a collaborative, agreed resolution of their dispute without the parties incurring the expense, inconvenience and uncertainty of protracted litigation. In the mediation process the parties are in control of their own destiny. They can craft their own resolution to the conflict without having a third party, like a judge or jurors, decide their fate.

              WHAT IS THE MEDIATOR’S ROLE?
A mediator meets with the parties to a dispute, both jointly and individually in caucuses, and attempts to facilitate a resolution of the conflict through the parties negotiating a mutually agreed written settlement of the conflict.

WHO PAYS THE COST OF MEDIATION?
Because each party to the dispute equally benefits from the mediation process, generally, the parties involved divide and pay the cost of the mediation services on an equal pro-rata basis.
